Brief: To design a full new garden to be fun and family friendly whilst enhancing the newly built detached property with all practical facilities and screening.
Design:The front garden of this property is largely taken up with the formal cobble edged driveway surrounded by narrow formal lawns and mixed planting to create seclusion and privacy.
To the side there is a large winding pergola creating both height and screening whilst also leading the eye around the house to the main terrace garden. The fun starts with the sunken circle based terrace garden with a mixture of paving materials creating a decorative surface throughout a large terrace area.
A segmented Cedar circle forms the centre of the main seating area, replicated in the bench finish itself. The main views from the house are down the garden past the children’s play feature and to the decorative brick tower water feature that creates a retainer between the terrace garden level and the higher open lawns. Mature boundary hedging and a comprehensive mixed planting scheme adds colour and softening to the property as a whole.
